I recently installed an sr20det into my s13. We got it running fine, but there was no oil pressure at all. Checked the compression and we had over 180 across the board. Dropped the pan, everything looked fine. Pulled the motor, replaced the pump, reinstalled. The only thing we did was replace the oil pump, and we went as far as dropping the upper oil pan to do so.
Reinstalled everything, torqued everything down, and reinstalled the motor. Now, it won't run, and we're getting (what looks like combusted air) from any open port in the intake manifold. It's very forceful blue air, and it forces out with a "PSHHH" sound (almost like a cheap bov) every few cranks, like it's building up pressure and can't get out anywhere but the intake.
The car has a fmic and no bov currently. We can't even get the engine running, which is odd because everything is hooked up exactly as it was before the oil pump change, and it was running fine (albeit without oil pressure).
Any suggestions here would be more than helpful, as we're currently sitting in the shop working on it (and scratching our heads).
