The outlet piping before the downpipe- Question is, does the swap require the cold start sensor to be ground down and weld shut? Or can you just cap it off? What does it need to have done? Its a black top s13, going into a 96 s14. Anybody know for sure- please let me know as im doing the final list of things to take care of before diving in. Thanks.

Hmmm... What does that pipe on the turbo extension have to do with cold starting? This is the first I've heard this theory. Please explain!

I know I don't have that on my car, and my car cold starts all the time. That pipe is not a part of the cold start system. When I still had that thing installed, it would open up at idle and suck clean/cool air back to the exhaust. I assumed it was for the catalytic converter. (which is non-existent)

That is the AIV hole that needs to be plugged. If you ran the proper system there, it 'could' hit the steering column (not sure about S14's but it hits on S13's). Heavy Throttle sells the plug on its site and on ebay for about $2.

Is it a special plug? Or could you just go get a cap bolt from the hardware store and seal it?

Nothing special about it. Just a regular plug, if you can find one at a store then use that.
