sr20det cold idle problem

Here's the situation. When I start my car in the morning when it's cold the electronic choke kicks in to keep the idle at 1500rpms. After a couple of mins the choke turns off as it should but the car's idle drops down to 600rpms and then turns off. I have to feather the gas for a couple mins to keep the car running but after that the idle is perfect between 700-800rpms. Any idea what could be causing this?

well the list could go on, i'd check to mae sure the throttle cable is tight, and the injectors are clean, and the plugs are good. my soarer used to do the same thing and doing those worked for me. just make sure your fuel system is in good working order. good luck
