sr20det clutch/starter problem

ok so for about a week i have been having a problem with my starter not hitting my flywheel. when i go to flip it its just a hissing sound no hook or another else. did a clutch and flywheel on it same teeth. had the starter looked at good starter. look at my flywheel it has scratches on it where the starter is spinning on it. looking for any kind of help. 91 240sx sr20det swap

where do you live?
I am not a mechanic, but had SR20det for 3 years and pretty good a diagnosis of issues if I see it.

i live in tucson been looking and there aren't any place here that could work on it.

It's not a magical engine - any mechanic can look at the starter, and any alternator / starter rebuild place SHOULD be able to rebuild it for $100. It's just like any other engine starting system.

If the starter is not bad, and you have the correct one and correct flywheel it is probably going to be wiring related. THAT might throw a mechanic for a loop.....
