I am installing the toda cam for my sr20, I heard that you would have to do something like a lifter adjustment if you didn't put the caps or the shime into the same order they were taken out. What do i need to do if i really didn't put them back in order...

You have hydraulic lifters... i.e self adjusting. There is no need to do any adjustment them. You do not have to remove shims or anything. Unbolt the camshaft caps (in the correct order) and put your new cams in and then bolt the caps back on in the correct order.

There is no reason you should be removing your shims and guides to change camshafts. While you're in there i'd bleed the hydraulic lifters though.

Also if you don't have one get a copy of the FSM and follow the instructions for changing the camshatfs.

acutally send out the head to get port and polish, would that have any effect on it? I would just have to put the cam cap back in order and put it back together?
