Sr20det guys, help me lean towards the swap instead of the kat.i want around 350-400whp on around 15-18psi on 91 oct, maybe 93. i love the gt35/40, thats the turbo i think i`m gonna want at the end. But anyone knows or had experience in the same goals. What are the parts you need to get around those numbers?

I`d have to rebuild my ka if i went that route, and thats a huge part of costs. Thats not to mention that still have to buy everything else. The rebuild kit i would get is between 1000 and 1300 big ones.

Thanks:

I think I would have gone a different direction if I had to do it again. I do not know what year 240 you have but sticking a jdm series 2 sr20det motor is a bizatch and you need to make sure that you have all the parts you need before you even start to attempt this -- one swap difficulty level I would give it a 8 out of 10. It is not an easy swap and then I may have just took a great car and made it a POS...

If I had it to do again probly would have gone ka-t. Although I can't complain about the sr which is an awsome engine and has never let me down. Only reason i say ka-t is because it has larger displacement and more low end torque which I miss when I'm in traffic and off the boost. Its nice to have that extra muscle before the turbo kicks in instead of taking off like a snail and then getting a huge surge of power 4 seconds after you hit the gas. But thats how a turbo is.
