I'm a newb to rebuilding engines, never done it before...but I wanted to rebuild my SR from block up. How do I know what brands to buy for rods, pistons, cams, etc? And are there books or sites that walk you through literally everything?

Justin said it best... Ken at Enjuku and John at 240sxmotoring.com will, both, answer any questions you may have. I'll never forget sending John 20+ emails when I was selecting my turbo.

AND...if hyjacker can fix the photobucket problem... The "how to rebuild an sr20det" thread is SO helpfull!!! I would also recommend purchasing the drift speed dvd on rebuilding that motor. I have it and its awesome. As for what brands to get; That mostly up to you and what you hp goals are and your application. Just do ALOT of reading. And the flashing "search" button on the top of the page is really helpful too.

good luck!!!

I am doing the same thing right now man. My best advice would just be read read and read more. Just go to different sr build threads and things like that and see what others are doing to learn what parts are what, and get some ideas on some things. Also the vid that someone (sorry didn't remember who when i started posting this) previously stated wouldn't be a bad idea. And also do a lot of research and ask a lot of questions if you cant find what you are looking for. But you should be able to find more or less anything you need to know on here. good luck man
