So it's been months and months without my car, but hopefully within the next few days I'll realize it was all worth it. After swapping the motor out myself originally, then realizing that JAPANMOTORIMPORT.COM sold me a motor with cracked rings and a blown turbo, I decided to have it rebuilt and beefed up! So here are a few pics, I'll try and add more as soon as I get her back, which might even be today

After getting it back from Mandrel Bending Solutions, which by the way did a freaking fantastic job with bending these pipes. ^^^^So clean.

^^I gotta figure out something so my brake fluid doesn't start boiling lol

So now all that's left is to break in the motor, upgrade the injectors and get a tune. Hopefuly I'll be pushing a little over 400rwhp by september

wrap your brake mc in heat insulation and/or add a heat shield.

dude, an SR with a built head + GT2876R in my freinds car put down 400hp, with that Top mount son of a *****, you should be doing a tad more than 400 I would think.

Looks tight man. Do you mind me asking how your going to tune and what size injecotrs your going with.

Im gonna be doing some 740cc injectors and was planning on a map ecu but I have no idea how to tune that ****.

2.5'' turbo side, 3'' TB side. I'm getting 660cc injectors and a MAP ECU, the guy that rebuilt it is gonna get me some free time on the dyno and tune it for me once i break the motor in. I was supposed to get it back yesterday but I need to get an on-center turbo housing, mine sits a little too close to the brake booster, close enough i can't even get a heat shield between them haha.

here are some pics of the car before the build started.

Whoa .. I bought my redtop from japanmotorimport.com .. I just got my car back from the shop and come to find that I also have a blown turbo and I blew my clutch not even 3 blocks away from the shop.. and it came with 550cc injectors, now my car is just sitting outside :/

Dude I feel your pain, that place f***ed me seriously. They won't even respond to any of my attempts to contact them. Seriously screwed me financially, though I could have just cut my losses with the motor and the stuff i bought for my car, but 5k in with that stuff, i figured i might as well rebuild it and have a motor i know is fresh instead of just buying another one and having more problems. Don't buy from JAPANMOTORIMPORT.COM!!!!!

I got it rebuilt because of the bad rings it had. i rebuilt it with arias pistons and eagle rods, other than that just normal stuff like arp head studs, new oil pump, new rocker arms and 5 angle valve job stuff like that. i've pretty much left the head alone for now, there really won't be a need to touch it until i put more boost on it later this year. i'm only gonna run 10psi for now, which will still be a GOOD improvement over stock SR, but i'm waiting to buy injectors, map ecu, and do the head work all at the same time. the place i had it done is Paradise Racing http://www.paradiseracing.com the owner Luis, who is my friends neighbor is real cool, he has a guy that did all the machine work on my motor who does all the work on his drag car.

nah, it developed an exhaust leak from the turbo flange the day after you and your friends came to look at it, i went to fix it and while i had the turbo off i noticed that there was a lot of oil coming out of it, then i noticed it had a bunch of shaft play, enough to where the wheel was barely a millimeter away from the housing when wiggled. then i took it over the the guy luis who ended up doing all the work on it, did a compression test and was barely pushing 100psi in each cylinder. so i decided to build it, ended up having 2 cracked rings when the machine shop took it apart.
