I am in the process of buying a beautiful s13 convertable withy an sr swap. It has a broken rocker arm and I am unsure of where to buy and how to fix the problem instructions please?! and would a stopper prevent further rocker arm issues? help!

You'll basically have to take apart the better part of the head. They sit under the camshaft to push the valves down. The part itself is not expensive, either is a rocker arm stopper, but the labor will cost you a good deal unless you do it yourself or have a friend help you out.

Welcome to one of the woes that all SR owners dread and will probably encounter in their ownership of one. Get all the little metal bits out first. You'll see them glistening in the oil. trust me.

Secondly, make sure you haven't lost the shim and guide. Then figure out why the rocker arm flew free.

Thirdly, you can get a replacement rocker arm from nissan, 91 sentra se-r will be a direct part.

Fourth, you can get a ras. It's cheap insurance, not a guarantee, but better than nothing.

i think there was a timing issue and valve was open during tdc on start-up; valve + piston = bent valve then broken rocker???? or do you think that it was something else that would have broken it thats more common?? thats just my guess i am not familiar with the sr AT ALL.

No, not the se-r valves.

You should check out the rwd sr section, there is a sticky at the top of the section that has alot of part numbers.

part numbers:rocker arms 13257-53J03

The intake valve should come off the se-r as well, but for something like that you can order them form someone like Phase2 or Superior Nissan of Puentes Hills.
