Ok I just got done with an s14 sr into s13 swap, it has a brand new turbo fmic and everything. Anyway the car starts right up and revs up to 7 grand no problem but blows pure white smoke. I did a compression check and 1 was at 120 2 was at 115 3 was at 120 and 4 was at 120. Im thinking its the head gasket but I dont know why it seems like its running so good, especially with the low compression. I was told the sr only had 25 thousand miles, but anyone can say that. Also I took it down the street and its really slow. please help

Preston

well i'd say definately the headgasket

but

is your turbo water-cooled? maybe your seals are bad?

I'm no expert on the SR20, but white smoke sounds like water getting into the combustion chamber... Check the head gasket and replace it. I had a similar problem with my Stanza, replaced the headgasket, ran like a champ with no smoke.

I think I recall reading something about doing a compression test while leaving the radiator cap off..... if the antifreeze bubbles while your doing the compression test, then it's probly the head gasket..

cant you also change the oil and visually see if coolant has leaked in?
