white smoke is a coolant leak, check your compression maybe it is ur head gasket.

when the engine is first started, does it smoke right away or it starts smoking after it has warmed up a little bit?

since there is already a thread for this, mine smokes too. It doesn't smoke on start up, it only starts after its warm and only when I'm sitting at a stop for like over a minute. I'm thinking its maybe a bad turbo? I'm goign to check my coolant and oil levels tomorrow see whats going on.

it sounds like it's in your piston rings. Are you losing coolant at all?

If your's doesn't smoke until coolant temp has rised up, it's most likely your turbo. I unbolted my exhaust manifold and left a little crack between the cylinder head and the manifold for exhaust to come out to see if the smoke was before or after the turbo. If you don't see any smoke coming out of the crack then it's definately the turbo.

unless your car is made of ****ing magic, if its blowing white smoke your loosing coolant. did you check to see if there is water in your oil or oil in your water?

my vote is either head gasket or damaged water jacket in the turbo.

I remember a while back.... before my 1st rebuild my exhaust cam was off by a tooth and it smoked like hell just like I had a blown headgasket

i'll go with damaged water jacket.......i remember a while back though drifter4life's car was doing the white smoke thing and it stopped when he replaced his thermostat.

this is kinda unrelated, but my car blew smoke heavily at idle, but at WOT it was fine, turns out the ECU was fried and #2 injector was dumping to much fuel... causing it to smoke hardcore.

the injector dumping to much fuel would cause heavy black smoke. he indicated that his car was blowing white smoke.

but his smoke is white. not blue.

and thats the pcv system. and if its blowing that much oil into your intake your going to have a ****load of other problems.

New to the forum and don't know how to make new thread haha.
But I'm having the same problem. I just did a compression test (cold) and got low numbers. 85-110.
The car runs/drives and makes no noises. I was thinking its a turbo at first. Any suggestions?!
