Was going to through the process of installing my new megasquirt, to no success. Wasnt getting spark to run a timing light. Pulled the plug and sat it on the windsheild, no spark, no spark, then finally some spark! PLugged it all back in and tried to set timing but my timing light stopped pulsing a light ( ie no spark.) Said ok well let me check my stock ecu. Alas, a perfectly working car is now useless for the time being, no spark on stock ecu. Cas has 12v, ground signal, but also two 6.2V currents when key is on? Ignitor has 12v to all pins. The coils have 12vs to each of them. Checked all the grounds, cleaned out the ecu plug pins ect. Wondering what I can do before I go insane.

Definite candidate for the "Blunders" column in the RockAuto newsletter. :chuckle:

Glad you got it straightened away!

check that you are getting a RPM signal and cam/crank sensors are sync'd in the MS software (no sync no spark/fuel).

Assuming that is ok test a known good set of coils and or ignitor. If you update the ECU/firmware while the coils are plugged in to the harness it's possible the coils were burnt up. In this case they may even still visually spark but the spark will be VERY weak or no existent.
