So i bought a project 240 about a week ago, and while driving around it one night. when pressing down the throttle the car started bogging down and got no power at all and had some s*** backfire, and When i pulled it over it ended up dying within 5 to 10 sec after.... We pushed the car off the street and were trying to see what da hell was going on.. So we ended up putting a new battery and the car made it the rest of the way home. We got it in the garage, went inside for a bit. then went to start the car see if it was going to be dead once again ( which it was). anyone know what the problem could be? I was thinking the alternator. just because the battery wont charger. But any other help would be greatly appreciated

**Also the car was stored for almost 2 year. but he said he'd start it like every 2 months. and always drained the gas after.**

Sounds like you need to have the alt tested at least, then do some TLC such as fluids, some gaskets and filters at the least.

Get the alternator tested and verify all grounds are tightened down.
