Sr20det Bad idle after intake manifold install HELP

so i installed and even played with the iavc and checked all the vaccum lines and what not so i timed it again and the car drives great perfect air fuel and all but when i stop the engine stays revving high around 1850 then when it seems its supposed to to idle it goes down way to low and starts to get lean, idk whats going on...any insight would help

Do you have a leak at the intake manifold or something?

Have you tried to spray some starting fluid or anything around suspect areas to see if it idles up while running?

i would do that but dont wanna hurt any rubber components, im gonna keep tinkering with it

It shouldn't hurt them too badly... but if you're really worried about it, you can use propane. Your best bet would be to use those little torch bottles like you get at home depot. Just don't let it ignite!

ok so i messed with it just now when the idle is high its a bit rich, normal for startup i figure but then when it gets to operating temp it starts to get leaner and leaner when the idle drops and doesnt correct itself

Typically vacuum leaks will cause it to go lean- seeing as how at idle, the engine is under vacuum, and therefor sucking in unmetered air.

ahh true im just gonna go gung ho tomorrow and break down everything and re assemble it
