Ok, let me give an example of what happened to me during my swap.
I had a KA24DE, swapping in an S13 SR Blacktop. I was told that my KA compressor would bolt right up to the SR A/C bracket. So, I pulled the KA compressor of the KA when i removed the engine, hoping to bolt it up without evacuating the A/C system. I found only 2 out of the 4 bolts actually lined up and the compressor wasn't lined up correctly with the belts, not good.
I said ok, let me try the KA A/C mounting bracket. NOPE, that wouldn't come close to mounting on the SR block. So i basically had to leave A/C off pending fabrication of new lines going to the SR's compressor.
Somewhere along the line, between Redtops and Blacktops, the way the A/C compressors mount has changed. I've heard that edtops allow you to bolt the KA's a/c compressor up. I hope this clears up a little confusion.
