what I did in my case was..I use the AC compressor fittings off sr20det redtop (most of the time they come cut at the rubber part from the importer) and tig welded to the USDM air conditioner hoses. Doesn't matter where you cut, just as long you keep one high and one low gas fitting.

No leak and works pretty damn well considering the heat and humidity of Georgia. Make sure you vaccuum the system throughout and convert it to r134. You can find sr20det AC compressor pretty cheap or sometimes free because a lot of people give up on their AC.

My friend had custom lines made for about $50 at our local hose store. He gave them the hose fitting from the SR and from the stock KA. They made a new line the next day.

the welding of the lines seems straight forward, but if you are using the SR compressor, the plug from the KA compressor wont plug in... what do you do about wiring?

AC compressor is a Negative trigger. Any plug (hopefully the redtop comes with one not cut, if not a Radio shack would work). You will have to extend the wires from the existing harness. If I can remember faintly, there are 2 wires you have to wire up in the harness . Look at the pin out on the ECU.

pin 106 is the AC relay (goes to your engine AC relay)pin 41 is the input from the switch of your AC control unit into your redtop ecu behind the glove box. (forgot what color).

P.S. if you can, try to get the rubber hoses from a r134 USDM because when I was doing my research in converting from r12 to r134, the molecules in the R134 are smaller and tend to leak through the rubber hoses. So the newer hoses are less prone to leaking.

ok heres what I did. Keep your factory a/c lines in place....use your factory a/c compressor. It should bolt up in two or 3 of the four bolts. All you gotta do is bend your factory lines just a bit while you are installing your sr. Its no biggie. My a/c works like a charm.
