Hello I just received my sr20det that I got off e-bay the complete swap for $1500 + shiping. The engine arrived the other day but to my surprise it came with an auto transmission bolted to it. Does any one want to trade an auto sr20det transmission for a 5spd sr20det transmission? or does anyone have a 5spd sr20det transmission that they want to sell? let me know. Thanks, Graham

oh man, that really, really sucks. Did it have the ECU and wiring harness with it? If it did, you're going to have to get a manual ecu and harness, the auto harness has extra sensors that you don't need with a 5 speed and the ECU won't work, you need ECU #62, not #61, #61 is the auto ECU.

Post the link to the auction, if it says that it's a manual, you can claim fraud.

just a thought don't kill me if I am wrong but..I have done five speed swaps from auto on several Skylines, Silvias and 180SXs (CAs though, no SRs) and every one retained the auto harness and computer. I had to trace and splice the nuetral safety switch and the reverse lights but that's it. If the SR is the same you could just need the transmission or even just an SR bellhousing if your 240SX has a manual KA.

If anyone can find me a bellhousing off a 5spd sr20det that would be freakin sweet. I think themadscientist is right.

Yeah, I have an Automatic engine, Auto Harness, and Auto ECU but it is bolted to a 5 speed manual transmission. No problems, just some extra wires on some sensors, and on the transmission. If it came with a radiator then you can easily tell if the engine was Auto or not since the Auto radiators have alot of extra holes that need to be sealed off that lead to the 4 speed.

And I run ECU #63 which is a redtop auto ECU as well as 61. So watch out for # 63 since I just saw a guy on ebay posting 63 as a manual ECU.

What did you have to do yo your ecu #63 to make it work with the 5spd transmission?

Nothing. It has some extra sensors that arent connected or dont affect performance. But theoretically it should be interchangable without any negative or hindered performance.
