Ok, So now whats wrong here. I installed radiator hoses and a new radiator into my 240sx with sr20de engine. I start the car it runs fine and everything I get all the stuff in clean up and take it for ride.

I get back turn it off and start trying to figure out why it idles is so high. (Another problem all together) anyway So I go to start it again and then it starts ups and starts jerking and jarking and shaking then just dies. I try again and this time it stays running for a little longer but just Shakes and Chugs badly then I touch the gas and it just dies right then and there. I play with it for a while and then unhook the Neg. Battery cable let it set for about 5 mins.

Guess what Now it runs and idles I say Ok cool. So i take it for a cruise and come back turn it off turn it on about 10 times No problems what so ever. Then I go to get in it about 30 mins later and it does the exact same thing again just chugs and slugs till it dies. I pull the cable again and it worked again. !!!!!

DOES ANYONE know what the hell would cause that... I have never saw it before. I know it has to be ECU or at lest I thought since I am pretty much clearing the codes in the ECU. So i checked the ECU and the ECU says 55 which means nothing wrong your screwed.

So anyone have some input. The only thing I did was I was trying to figure out what was causing the high Idle I had placed a Cap over the big line coming out of the top of the Thortal body but why would that cause this problem. I even put everything back to the way it was and its still doing this.

Thanks

When you say you pulled the cable and it worked fine, which cable are you refering to? If it's your battery cable then I would say you have a loose, broken, coroded battery cable ends.

Could not having a proper ground cause this problem? Because I remember I had my girlfriend start the car and it was doing the chugging and trying to die. I then had her turn it off and I wiggled the NEG. battery cable and she turned it on and it ran fine.

I pulled the Neg. battery cable off the battery waited around 5 mins put it back on then the car will run fine.

Yesterday It was running great then I took it for a ride for about 2 mins and came back parked and when I went to start it again it was doing the rough rumbling chugging dieing thing and then when i touched the gas peddle to give it gas it just Died. I pulled the battery cable for about 5mins and it worked again.

I didnt know if 240sx do this when there isnt a proper ground or something.

But the part i cant figure out is after it Dies from chugging and rumbling, I can turn the key and the motor will turn it just wont start until i pull the neg battery cable and wait.

??? I tried reading the ECu but it says 55 So I am really confused about this.
