You dont use a FWD SR20DE, you buy a Japanese S13/S14/S15 SR20DE since the engine mounts are in the way wrong place. Get them from places like this http://cgi.ebay.com/Nissan-199...wItem

Or thishttp://cgi.ebay.com/JDM-Nissan...wItemOrhttp://cgi.ebay.com/JDM-Nissan...wItem

Both of those companies are reputable.

if you want to stay legal and get more power, why not just swap a KA24DE? It will make more power than your current motor, will be perfectly legal and best of all it will be really cheap. I really dont see the point of going with a non turbo SR20DE since it wont be any faster than what you have right now

In one ear and out the other huh?

The FWD SR20DE will not fit in a 240SX. It would cost about as much to make it fit into a 240 as it would to make it fit half way up your a??...

Like a cop could tell the difference between a FWD SR20DE, and a RWD SR20DE.

If you want to stay legal then stick to CARB approved parts.

The only way to stay legal and I mean only way is to either find and buy a previously imported (you can't do this anymore) and registered Silvia or 180sx, that you have to referee every 2 years, or just build yourself a N/A powered KA24DE. You can actually get yourself to over 200hp no problem, and the car will be fun and legal. There is no way to make a SR20det or Ka-T of any kind legal in California.

Actually if you manage to fit the fwd SR20 in a 240 and you get it legalized at a refree you can have a legal sr20de in the car. At this point you can get a CARB legal JWT turbo kit for the sr20de and you will have a legel sr20de-t. This is too much work though.
