I have a 96' 200SX SE, and looking to swap for a SR20DE. I'm going to school at the moment, and i have oil problems with my stock 1.6L. I want more power, but can my stock transmission handle the new engine? I will most likely upgrade the SR20 with a turbo once i could, but I would use my car mostly for a commuter; so i wouldn't want the power from it all the time. I'm somewhat new to this, and how much would an engine, and maybe if a transmission was needed, would cost.

I wreck my car's front end about a year ago so i would also swap out the radiator, also the condenser. Would a intercooler interfere with the condenser?

I live in seattle, and looking to buy a bike. But the weather isn't the best all the time so a car is needed. Any thing will help. Thanks.

You'll be needing an SE-R (or other FWD SR20) trans anyway.

95-98 200SX SE-R99 Sentra SE-L00-01 Sentra SEAny G20

G20T and Sentra SE performance package will have limited slip.

Intercooler won't interfere as long as you line up the brackets correctly.

Price will depend on exactly what SR you swap in from 500-1500 or so. Trans should only be a few hundred from a junkyard IIRC.

You'll also need a few other parts as outlined in our GA->SR FAQ.

Will the axles, front, rear and side mount brackets along with motor mounts fit on a b14 ga to sr20ve swap?

Those vehicles listed are the best trans to use.

I don't remember off hand what axles to use. Check out the GA16->SR20 FAQ link in the Table of Contents linked-to in my sig.

Thanks a bunch for the feed back. Where would the best place to go for finding the engine? I'm not familiar with seattle yet so i don't know of many junk yards. Might have to travel back home for that.
