So i have a wondering on this topic of the RR engine and why its not mentioned among the other SR engines. and why ppl dont put them in the 240/silvias.

i mean ive actually written a novel about putting an RR in a 240 s13. is it not possible or something. ive seen them in sentras (they came in sentras from like 01-03 or something.)

so in the novel a kid goes from a SR20 engine to a SR20 RR engine and super charges to beat a S15. is this feasable?

what are the specs on an RR engine. they are hardly mentioned on Nico.

if its not feasable then it looks like im rewriting my novel. lol

any insight into this engine would be awesome

If its a FWD engine, theres alot of work to do. I don't even know if it is possible.

Nothing's impossible, but it's extremely impractical. There's a reason you never hear of people putting them into an s chassis.

You wrote a novel on something about which you know nothing? Awesome. I hope it sells big. As a fellow writer, however, I'll refrain from commenting on your grammar.

It would probably be easier to swap in an RB20 than convert the FWD SR to work in a RWD configuration. Not saying it can't be done, but it would still get overpowered by the conventionally tuned S15.

Its not possible to just put a fwd sr20 head on a rwd sr20 block, correct?

Maybe just some machine work to make the head internals fit the rwd head??

well see at the time of writing the novel, i really didnt get in to the technical aspect. i mean i didnt have internet when i wrote the book so research was limited. that puts a bit of a damper on the novel. since noooow i have to rework everything. dammit this is gonna be another set back.

Plus i didnt know that it mattered whether an engine was made for a rear wheel drive car or a FWD.

live and learn i guess.

I keep hearing about this from time to time, but I have never seen any results. What kind output does it produce?

There are two different discussions going on. I'm 99.99% sure nobody has ever put a roller rocker SR into a RWD s chassis, it's not feasible. There is no kit for the swap.

The VE head on the DE block has been done, like stated Mazworks makes a kit. It's an involved swap, and it adds some low and mid-range torque and horsepower to the SR. Not worth the price tag. Google it if you're interested, there's an entire build thread on Fresh Alloy.

OP...it's your story, you can do whatever you want, but you have a lot of learning to do.

The biggest advantage to it is that the ve heads have shaft mounted rockers(goodbye floating rockers, hello 9000+ rpm), the vvl (Nissan v-tack yo) is an added bonus or annoyance depending on your point of view.

I've never heard of rr sr in a 240, but seeing as a ve head can be swapped onto a rwd block fairly easy, I would assume that putting the rr head on the rwd block would be a pretty straight forward and similar process the ve head swap.
