I have a sr20de in my car. There is a metal tube with a temp probe screwed into it that has a radaitor hose going to it then another hose going from it to the radiator.

I am trying to figure why it is there? The hose kits for the sr20det do not seem to have any extra hose for this setup?

I am looking at getting some Samco hoses and I wanted to make sure I could just cut the lower one and put this metal tube thing in there and use clamps on both side. I didn't know if silicone hoses have to be cut any special way?

do you have an aftermarket water temp gauge?

Nope, it is some type of metal tube with a factory sensor pluged into it and running into the wireharness. I will take pics of it.

Sounds like some R-tard re-located the factory temp sensor for whatever reason then. Do you still have the other factory temp sensors for the ecu, and gauge on the intake manifold?

Thats the Coolant temp sensor. Not plugging that in will cause your car to run Rich. it measures the temperature of the coolant going into the engine .
