i'd like any information regarding the swap, performance potential, etc.

just thinking about an N/A alternative to the KA24, and i've found some front-clips for RWD SR20's for pretty cheap.

if you happen to have this swap done, or know where info on it may be, please post pics, links, pearls of wisdom, E T mofo C.

i havent done it. i did the sr20det swap, but i dont know why you would go sr20de if you are going NA. there is no replacement for displacement for NA cars (2.0l vs 2.4l). im just curious as to why you would do that? please enlighten me.

Because the N/a SR20 responds better to the greater aftermarket thanks to the FWD community.

The motor is also considerably lighter than the KA.

Yeah, like 100lbs lighter. Plus people have gotten more out of NA SR's than alot of people even concider posible with a huge budget on a NA KA. However, displacement will get you the torque.

I would love to build a momentum racer for SRX using a 89 s13 coupe and a sr20de. It would be a neat oddball project.

i've been considering the exact same thing, due to the massively cheaper price tag. is it much harder to install than a KA or easier than an SRdet ?

OMG Thanks for the info Captain Obvious.

BTW only 180SX's from August 1996 and up got SR20DE's. So the best source for an NA SR is the Silvia.

what spikes my interest is the numbers. The all stock SRDE makes 160 (over the 155 of the KADE) using nearly nearly half a liter less which could have to do with compression and US emissions restrictions, but that being the case, that`s things you would have to work out on an NA KA already sorted for you... i`m as interested in an all out NA SR as iAm an NA KA. I have this feeling that the SR would work out better as a drift/handling engine though, for revvability and power dropoff near or at redline.
