sr20de fwd to rwd

so im woundering if a person gets a sr20de grey top be converted to do a sr swap or is it only red tops and black tops that could be swapped?... heres a link to the engine im askin about(of course the trans would not work )

Too much modification. Get a Red or Blacktop for RWD platform. That intercooler looks good but don't expect anything fancy out of it. That thing doesn't come with the stock BOV at least?? I think that would be a waste of money by the time you find all the little bitty parts. Better off getting an aftermarket one (which is about the surface area of 4 stock intercoolers highly recommended to prevent heat soak) or a Volvo 740 intercooler would be good for it. You would have to make your own piping.

What is so different? I was able to score on a fwd sr20 for $50, so I would love to keep it and throw it in my 240. I know it obviously needs a different transmission and throttle body and exhaust... but what else is different?

Bellhousing bolt pattern will be different, the water neck and distributor locations will be different, the distributor will hit the firewall, starter won't mount up the way it does on the RWD one, among other things that won't line up.
