i was wondering if it was just as good to boost a n/a sr20 as compared to just buying a sr20det. My car is a sohc ka right now, but want sr swap soon. Just trying to keep the budget low. Any help would be appreciated.

Save up for the DET. It will be better and cheaper in the long run.

det's have piston oil squirters and coil on plug I think you would be better off in the long run with a det. Think off all the stuff you would have to convert to go turbo. The de's have diferent internals also dont they.

The DE's have higher compression off the bat than the DET's. Otherwise, they're pretty much the same internally. The DE block can be drilled and tapped for the oil and coolant lines for the turbo as well. The hardest part of the switch over are the oil jets for the pistons. Pretty hard to get that just right.

someone on nico boosted a NA SR20 before, forgot their reasons for doing so, but it was mainly for their drag car.

personally, i wouldnt bother with the headach, its too much of a hassle, just get the DET and work from there

Also the DET comes with Distributorless Ignition, which is a lot better IMO. THe N/A SR's come with a Distributor.
