sr20de, anyone ever dun it in cali?

For all u non cali guys, sr20dets wont even pass visual testing for smog test, but ive heard of guys, "looking over visual" but passing emissions.

So my theory is to; since sentras/200sx sers have fwd sr20s (correct?) to get a jspec silvia Qs motor which is a non-turbo sr20de and swap it in my car. Im just askin you guys for ur info, and advice, since its the same engine, wouldnt it pass emissions?

den i could get a turbo/ic kit later on for full on sr20 pwr. :ylsuper

seems like A LOT of trouble, and a useless one, when you can probrobly make all those problems go away with a small sub $150 donation under the table to the shop doing the 'inspection' for your sticker.....

Hmm, there goes my theory. Guess im stuck with the big ugly ka24de, untill my engine blows, or i find i guy that could "hook it up."

Just look for someone shady. : ) Its really not THAT hard. Or, go in and emissions check your KA24 and then you have 2 years that you don't have to worry about it.

eh, still gotta save up money for swap anyways, unless u wanna sell me the full redtop package for, $500?Im still in high skool, and as itsuki said, "pay for high skoolers suck."
