ok i picked up an sr from someone its pretty much been converted to sr20det.. but its still distributor ignition... i just want to know if anyone can tell me are the de and det heads the same? and block wise is anything different other than the compression and weaker internals??

i will be rebuilding this motor soon and im going to switch it to coilpack ignition.. just making sure its going to be as easy as i think its going to be.. ive owned many kas and zero sr's if you can tell lol.

The valve cover doesn't have the bosses drilled and tapped for the coil packs, but other than that, you should be able to use DET coils as long as you use all DET electronics (ECU, harness, etc).

DE doesn't have:Piston oil squirtersNo sodium filled exhaust valvesTurbo pistons (IE. not low compression, with thicker ring lands)

Otherwise, it has the same connecting rods, has a crank girdle, and everything else is the same.
