My sr20 started up 2 days ago right away after sitting for awhile, the idle surged so i shut it off and played around with it. (really nothing just looked for vacuum leaks, but im going to clean the IACV) The next day i went to start it up and got nothing. I can hear the fuel pump, I pulled the cover on the ECU and everything looked fine. I get power to all accessories. The engine does not even crank. So how do i check the Ignitor, where and how would i check the ECU relay??

If it dosent even crank have you even checked battery posts? starter? check if your batter has 12v, battery posts are not loose or dirty, also on the positive side 240's have the little red clip on them always check for a loose connection on the two little clips inside the red plastic. If you hear the fuel pump and if possible check injectors ecu is fine. Also the ignitor will not keep your engine from cranking.

Could be the power relay in the front pass corner of the car closest to the fuse panel. Also, check to make sure the rubber grommet on the clutch pedal is still there and pushing on the clutch switch. If it isnt either of those two things, then cant be sure. I had both of those problems.

Update: i pulled out the #1 coil pack along with spark plug, tried turning the key and i got no spark....

I just put in a new battery, i checked all connections everything seems to be fine. I read about some clutch interlock relay, do SR have this?? The starter wont even click

So even if the ignitor is bad it should crank than huh?

Sounds like a starter problem man. You're not getting spark because the motor won't turn over and the CAS doesn't send a reading to spark it uppp!

Try giving the starter a whack with a hammer and then start it, sometimes its stuck. Also check the wiring connections at the starter.

If those fail I'd say it's time to buy a starter. KAde starter will work, you just have to save the aluminum housing your SR one comes in and swap it. GL

if you have nothing at the starter, then follow the procedure I gave you and I'm gonna bet the starter is fine. Check the input at the starter see if it is getting juice before you go and buy a starter that isnt the problem. I'm gonna bet that the problem is the blue relay in the pass front area, the front of the inner aprin at the front of the car behind the headlight. Or the clutch switch. The relay in the front that I speak of is a main relay for the electrical system, if that fails, then the starter itself will not engage. Therefore the cas will not turn, therefore there will be no spark. Its not the ignitor chip, it would still crank, and before replacing the starter make sure the circuit has power, if not, then its the relay, or the clutch switch isnt being pushed in at the pedal.

Update: jacked the car up, looked at starter and yup there was a little grey plug hanging down, i connected built some new battery terminal ends, put the key and it it started right up. yeah....

But i have an exhaust leak at the turbo manifold...GRRR and than theres some kind of ticking from near the Fuel injector...Any thoughts

Also after idling for ten minutes i try to rev it up, and it wants to bog out and die.

Depending on how bad the leak in the manifold is it can effect your MAF reading and therefore fuel/air ratio causing the car to bog or die.

But it's probably due to a bad fuel injector. If you're sure the injector is the one making all the noise, then it's broken.

Other than that it could be the timing chain (if you ever messed with it), or valve tap (probably not unless your valve train was worked on or the head was off the motor before).

Glad to see u got it running
