sr20 wont hold rpms dies when clutch is pressed

Ok so im kinda new to these motors and im having a problem i cant figure out i bought a sr swapped coupe for 3000 grand so far it needs turbo better bov. everything is stock it runs rich i can smell it in the oil and it smokes pretty good i recirced the bov because every forum ive read that has this problem thats supposedely what fixes it i messed with the iac a little bit to but no luck it idles ok until i tromp the throttle just sitting then when im actually driving it runs fine pulls fine soon as i press in the clutch though it dies if i dont put into the next gear. was wondering if this might be because of crappy ebay bov or turbo with good amount of shaft play or something else :confused: . any help is greatly appreciated thanks! ps motor has good compression 150 across all 4

If it's flooding, it sounds like you have an air issue. BOV could be leaking, coupler/piping could be loose.

Ím new to these forums, so sorry to bump into ur thread.

Im doing so because my sr20det does excactly the same thing as yours, and i was wondering if u found any solutions to the problem?

I myself have checked and rechecked everything i could possibly think of..

man im still working on this problem stock turbo had alot of shaft play and was missing a bunch of gaskets so i got a better stock turbo put new gaskets everywhere so far as manifold and turbo goes checked everywhere for boost leak and recirced the bov also cleaned out iacv im going to go ahead and replace it insall a safc2 aftermarket fpr and if this dosent fix it i have no idea what im gonna do. wish you luck and let me know if you find anything out.

Just cleaned my IACV today an DAMN it was dirty, so while cleaning i naturally got my hopes up.

But once i was done and refitted it, no changes at all. Let me know when u have changed the IACV and what changes it made :)

Could the IACV be dead? how would the car act then?
