Has anyone been to flashoptions.com? They have good deals on s-13 engines...It just makes me wonder if they are good quality because they are so inexpensive. Feedback would be appreciated.

Go ahead and try to contact them and ask about everything. What's included with their motors, and what's included with their front clips. Ask them what's missing or whatnot. You can also ask if they keep the clips outside in the weather or in warehouse. Get on their case and blow their heads off with endless questions. If they can answer them all and back it up, by all means go for it if it sounds good enough. If they have cut harness, missing FIC, blown turbos, etc then dont even bother. That or they will have to discount the price BIG TIME.

seems like a lot of people are buying engines from them...according to their website 13 engines were sold in the last 2 weeks. $1600 for a front clip? that's a great price if it's in good condition and not missing anything, I'd get that if it really was complete. If they've sold that many engines, I'm sure at least one person has to be on this forum or freshalloy, so if anyone bought from them..let us know what your experience was with them.

hmm...if you look at their FAQ, it looks like someone needs grammar lessons. I'm not sure what kind of professional image this projects, but it makes me wonder about the integrity of the company.

I inquired about the milage on the front clips and they said that they have 30,000 miles or less on them...If its a front clip it should have everything needed for the swap. I hope they still have these deals whenever I get my money up in a couple of months.

They're in malaysia, thats why their English isn't the best. There is no warranty. They are not responsible for anything, and if you have a problem and they actually approve you you're subject to all freight charges and a 20% restocking fee. Have you ever tried to send something to Malaysia? : ) It says 330 dollars shipping to anywhere in America, I wonder if any other fees apply to that. I like to look at the bad side of things, some people think I'm a pessimist, but I prefer to view it as a pragmatist having known more than my fair share of people to have been ripped off. Good Luck!

I tried to import a motor from australia earlier this month, this company you are looking at says 330 anywhere in america, they probably mean any port in america, it was going to cost me 500 to ship to cali from aus. just in sea freight, than you have to pay insurance, tax/duty, and paperwork. Those were going to cost about 200 $ alone. Than I would have had to ship to midwest, probably another 300 $. So the 500 or so dollars I was gonna save was going to be blown on shipping. Be wary of over seas vendors simply because they could ship you a bucket of crap and theres very little you could do about it... A good U.S. source is Karim at R390 motor sports, I hopefully have one coming from them this month...

Also keep in mind that in other countrys, like Aus, do not have the 30,000 mile tax like Japanand the countrys are bigger, so you are more likely to see 10 year old cars with 100,000 miles on them. And they can roll back the odometer to make you feel better. Anyway shop smart and maybe try Karim, my friends engine was perfect from him, we have yet to see how mine comes...

This co is in Malayasia. Just because they have good prices doesnt mean they are a bad co. (or maybe I am just trying to be optimistic).

But I still would like to hear from someone who has bought an engine from them.

Where else do you guys know of where I can get an SR20det other than Heavy Throttle and Unstable Hybrids for a decent price.

R390 motor sports, what is thier website??

I dont have his web-site handy but it wasnt much to look at, but here is his email... [email protected]

I will find his web site tommorrow, call him and see what he has to offer, my friend has already bought and installed a motor for his infinity G20 and it was VERY clean, and runs perfect! He strongly recommends him.

And his contact # his name is Karim.

Now dont quote me on this but from what I understand... Japan taxs cars with over 30000 miles or whatever the equal kilometers are... MORE heavily than lower milage cars. The tax is designed to stimulate the car buying market, you know encourage everyone to drive newer cleaner more effiecent cars, and help automakers. That is why you see so many 30,000 mile engines coming out of 10 year old cars. The junkyards are full of em, not just cause kids run them into curbs, but when they do its cheaper to buy a newer car anyway. Hope this will help...

yeah, that does help, thanks:)

anyway, dauntless, or anyone who has been posting here/is a mod/ is well known, would it be possible for a sticky to be placed on a thread in which the suppliers are discussed, links are given, etc...?

and, perhaps, a faq could be set up with opinions/track histories of each of the suppliers with data/opinions gathered from the aforementioned suppliers?

this would give people like myself a valuable tool in finding a quality supplier(other than afterdark, of course) and cut down on so many threads entitled "where can I get a sr20det for my 240?" or the like.

or, here is an idea, you could use the search option and find them yourself. The information EXISTS you have to find it. I know about 20 threads like this that pop up every month... and u newbs dont read the stickies anywho...so search!!!
