Look im gonna let you know right now the whole sr20 vs ka battle has been done to death. People are sick of being asked this qestion. Honestly if you want to know, I suggest you do some reseach on both engines and then decide which one is for you. The flashing button up top should be very useful to you. Also welcome to nico.

Listen I don't care to battle I am asking a perfectly legit question, I only want to know the difference, for example, will the ka allow you to run higher boot than the sr and stronger under load, or is the sr the cheep man's way to speed with out having the strong motor for the long run . I am not here to start a battle , I am asking a beginner question.

I am very well versed in the motorsports department, infact I support a NASCAR team. Now, that being said, I want to put my co-workers to shame and am a 240sx fan, what motor would you pick to smoke a corvett for lunch and eat a mustang for extera credit. I am a beginner to the 240sx tuning but I am looking for good feed back with out getting an answer like "if I have to ask you must be a sr guy" so tell me what you run and why...

ALSO the SR nor the KA is cheap the KA need a **** load of work to make it even run a turbo right and the SR going rate is 3500 per half cut and to upgrade it cost a lot of money as well I say GO Rb26 DETT fro real power nothing like a GTR motor which is stock 325 and twin turbo to get the blood running the swap you would need a Rb25 RWD transmission and driveshaft core performance mounts and drive shaft http://www.tophatperformance.com will do the labor of install for 2200 USD and you can easly got 500+ HP from a RB26

I looked at top hat performance , they seem like good guys. My budget is around 5500-6k. Do you think that will cover the motor and install

First, i wouldnt start out by saying "Listen", lol second everyone is just telling you to use that flashing red search button because this whole forum tuning board might be new to you, but this is definently the thousandth thread that ive read with the exact question in mind.

Now for cheaper than the price of an sr20, you could piece a budget KA-T turbo kit that pushes more HP an' TQ at the same boost lvl as its 2.0l friend. All in all, you just need to do the research and determine what you want(hp/drive-ability goals) in the end, and how much you really are wanting to spend.

Well, you posted this question in the KA-T section you are likely to hear more KA-T answers. The opposite would hold true if you posted in the SR forum. With that said here are a few short answers.

I have KA-t with mild T3 and 10psi 220hp/256TQ. (A T3/T4 hybrid can easily net 300+) I have yet to lose to a mustang new or old. It all depends on what the mustang has in it. The KA-T has great torque down low but tapers off in hp and Tq after 5700 RPM. In my opinion the SR is for kids who want to be JDM-tyte. KA is for car nuts who want to build something fast not buy something fast. I wouldn't trade my KA for any SR.

The SR has its pluses though. High revving, very strong stock internals, better flowing head, Aftermarket parts galore. I have never laid my hands on an SR though so thats about all I can say about that.

Good luck! Welcome to NICO, we are the home of some of the best information out there and nicest group of 240 people out there. You are bound to hear more of it so I will tell you this. The Search button is your friend this topic has been covered many times (Many!)

+1 for KA-T

P.S. emperor_lunchbox resize your sig pic It's HUGE

Arrrrrrgh! Comeon guys, why does this question have to be asked over and over and over again. There is a WHOLE MESS of threads about this subject in our archives, and even more related information in every SR or KA-T thread on this board (and there are thousands).

I hate to do it, but this one is gettin locked up. We try to promote an open forum for people to ask questions, but this one is crossing the line-- I think most of the members would agree.

miggs32, I see you're new- and welcome to NICO, but please understand that this kind of question (the "tell me everything because I havnt read or learned anything at all yet" kind of question) really grates on a lot of our members. Feel free to ask questions, but please do us the favor of doing some basic research on your own, first.
