Not sure if this is a vacuum issue but i think it is. I just got a 1991 Nissan 240sx with the sr20det swap that has less than 500 miles on the engine. It had some idle problems which i fixed by finding a veiw vacuum problems. It now idles smooth but when i rev it up pretty high the car will come down to idle then sputter and normally die. This happens mostly when car isnt 100% warmed up. I am going to sell the car but would like to fix this problem before I do. Any ideas?mike

i forgot to add in (if this even helps) that when I give it one big rev it does this, but if I rev the car up little by little it comes down and doesnt die.

your probably running an atmospheric B.O.V.... try adjusting the spring pressure.

are you running a atmospheric bov..that sounds mostly likely what the issue is.

mjmmx6, do you have a boost gage?, is it running low boost? Does it smell like its running rich. do you have any aftermarket parts on it?

just so you guys know, its not the bov.

My car was doing something similar but also include the occasional back fire...Turned out to be a build up of sludge and carbon deposits around the turbo charge pipe and hot pipe the necks that led from the turbo to the piping. Make sure they are clean as clean can be....

I would love to fix it so it runs the best it will but I am really big with mx6 engines and only know so much about 240's. If something on there isnt right or you need me to check something please feel free to ask and I will check asap. The vacuum lines are crazy!!Does anyone know how many vacuum lines come off the intake manifold? I really think the main part of this is a vacuum problem but when i got a diagram it isnt easy to follow cuz the previous owner ran lines all over the place
