Hello Nico,

Ok so I did some searching with no luck. I have a 92 300zx tt I am in the process of deciding how to do my exhaust and have a question or two.

I have been looking for turbo outlets/elbows and was wondering if a sr20 turbo outlet will fit. Wondering if anyone has done this. I like this elbow over the ones offered for the z that split the wastegate. I have T25 4 bolt turbos and am not sure if they make a 4 bolt SR outlet. I guess my biggest concern is if it will hit the fire wall.

If anyone has done this please chime in.

Thanks

No, it wont work, and the split SZ pieces are THE BEST you will be able to find or build.

Glad you were able to figure out!

If you do buy the super split be prepared to cry at the sheer beauty of them.

That my debate right now. Those are not cheap and I own a metal fab shop so I am deciding weather to build something or just drop the cash and be done with it. Those things look very nice indeed i will agree with that. How is the fitment? Are they as hard to put on as it is the OEM? I guess it is only a plus if it is easier, but then again nothing is easy under a Z32 lol.

1. If you do buy them go for the SZ pipes, DO NOT buy AMS pieces, they are cheap Chinese copies of inferior quality.
2. The SSs are a bit of a b**** to install but then everything on the Z32 is, it can be done from under/above the car with a bit of cursing and some bloody knuckles.

OK, so similar to OEM down pipes. It sucks but is doable..

Well I honestly don't think I am going to buy SZ elbow. I agree it is probably the best on the market but I cant justify spending that much.

My 300 is my daily driver and will not have to many mods and the ones it will have do not require to step up to 3in exhaust. I rebuilt the entire engine recently and will post a build thread soon. But I kept everything factory for the most part I just have new parts for almost everything that matters. New turbos but OEM. new rings and bearings and gaskets. all that good stuff. New OEM injectors blah blah it is all new. I did put a light weight cromoly fly wheel and had the entire rotating assembly balanced. Heads are all new with a 3 angle valve job. I did put a CZP ECU on it with a flash for 15psi with OEM turbos. The only other power mods I plan on doing are Z1 side mounts, dual MAF and an exhaust. if I can put 350 down I will be surprised and happy. All other mods will be in the suspension and interior..

For the exhaust this is what I am thinking and let me know what you guys think. I will get the Megan Racing elbow and test. They are cost effective for me. I will weld in flex bellows to the test pipe to relive some stress on the elbows and also a high flow cat (I hate CA for this one issue). Then I will most likely fabricate and H pipe with resonators. I will spend my money on the SZ 2.5in rear exhaust. Let me know if the Megan piece are complete crap but I feel I could work with them. I am just looking for a good flowing exhaust that will keep me CA legal and not really loud but not stock either. Idk this is what I am toying with right now.

Megan pieces are not entirely crap but some folks do have fitment issues, if you are planning on adding flex to the TPs then you shouldn't have problems as the fitment issues are usually where the TPs mate to the CBE. You don't really need resonators on the TT because the TTs don't produce as much rasp as NAs, this one is personal preference. I'm not sure if I have ever seen a CARB approved CBE for the Z but then I lived in Texas most of my life where we don't have to worry about CARB. Though you will benefit from a full 3" or a 3" DP/TP to a 2.5" CBE exhaust, you won't lose much going with a full 2.5" TBE and for the difference in price I don't really think its justifiable to go to a full 3". Latly; 350whp is a realistic figure for the mods you've listed provided your car is tip top and you have a good dyno tune.

Basically what I was thinking. Thanks. Plus I can get the Megan's and the saved cash will buy my Z1 side mounts. I feel that will be more bang for the buck.

I have no idea If this exhaust will fly with CA but IF i put all the required smog parts on the exhaust I will be more likely to pass the sniffer and then it is just visual Which is usually easy to deal with. Worst case I put OEM back on to pass test.

The resonators are only there to keep it quiet. I don't want it to draw a lot of unwanted attention

The resonators won't quiet it down, the turbos and mufflers do a good enough job of that, the resonators are there to remove the rasp more than anything, the SZ exhaust doesn't get loud unless you really step into it, its a perfect exhaust for cruising.
