sr20 transmission popping out of gear while driving HELPP

so i recently swapped to a redtop sr from a single cam ka and when im driving 4 gear just pops out, and i can put it in 1-5th with like my pinky. it just feels like all the gears are extremley loose, i ordered the isis short shifter and im hoping this will help, some one please help

The short shifter won't help at all man, but there is hope.Was your KA transmission 5spd? Did it work well? If so, you can swap the SR bellhousing onto your KA gearhousing.If you can't, it sounds like some type of retainer or synchro problem. I'm not totally an expert, just done a lot of research on the Sentra 5spd problem. Old manual trannies are all the same tho.

F*** this sucks so basically i have to live with it yeah my ka one was 5 speed but its in the same shape as this one

the detents are probably shot, had the same thing on an old jetta

i used to have a problem kinda like that. my shifter would pop up to neutral a lot from, 2nd, 4th, and reverse. but that was just the rubber boot pulling up on the shifter.
