"The guy at the shop" needs to do some research. Have they not done an SR swap before?

It should be just fine. There's no reason why it should be short. Your KA's throttle body should be right where your SR's throttle body is.I agree with AZ HITMAN, your mechanic needs to do some research.

DUDE.

You have GOT to be kidding me.

<sigh> Omar, didn't you just learn a tough lesson?

SR swaps are commonplace, and MA is NO different. Hell, one of the best SR shops in the US is in MA.

You can have the KA cable loop behind the valve cover and around the intake manifold. This is the clean effect. With an SR cable, it will go diagonally over the valve cover and make its way to the tb... Your mechanic needs to visit one of the sr swap guidelines. SEARCH and dont be rude to GREG. His trying to look after you. Putting your hand up your *** and making remarks like this will get you no where.

Just a little FYI...

The following throttle cables will work with the SR20DET swap.SR20DET Black Top - too short93 240sx Fastback - too long KA24DE

I did a swap about a year ago and neither of those throttle cables worked. Upon using the KA24DE Throttle cable problem does not lie in the entire length of the cable, but where the mount point of the throttle cable mounts to the intake plenum to the throttle butterfly. After attaching the KA throttle cable to the throttle body there's so much slack in the cable that when u push the pedal to the floor in the car the throttle plate opens less than half way

When the SR20DET cable was installed, the length between the mount point and the throttle butterfly was so short that you have to rotate the throttle plate open just about all the way to get it to hook on to the butterfly. I could only imagine how that woulda turned out had I crunk the car.

So cheap fix without all the headache. Use the KA Throttle Cable. Remove the old mounting bracket that secures the cable to the plenum. Save the bolts. Go to Home Depot, Lowes, or any hardware store and pick you up a 1' x 1' sheet of steel bend, cut, clean, paint, and bolt it to the intake plenum. Attach the cable and you're set.

Hope this helps. Took me 5 min to come up with it. Had spare sheet metal laying around from where I did my shaved door handles and welded the holes where my door handles used to be.

Its not a specific year nor a specific engine..... Its all s13s and all redtop black tops.. If you really want, go to a junk yard and find one that will work for you from many different cars. Simple as that.
