I just bought a blacktop SR20 to put in my S14 about 2 weeks ago that was missing a few hoses. I found most of them, just need to know about the one that comes off the turbo outlet (looks like aftermarket ones don't have this piece) and the third smaller hole on the intercooler. Pics would be great if possible.

Confused from reading your post, perhaps you need to take some pictures of what you're missing?

nissan paint code wv-2- aka 350z silverstone, or infiniti diamond graphite. Actual color came out a little darker, but the real thing is oh-so-sexy. My I-35 is that color.

no digital camera, maybe I can describe better... turbo outlet has a small diameter metal hose that comes off the side and up, I have no hose to connect to it.

stock intercooler has 3 holes in the top, 2 large ones for the intercooler piping and one smaller one. Don't know why.

If these things are not necessary I have no problem just finding a way to close off the holes, last time I checked aftermarket turbo outlets and intercoolers do not have these extra connections I don't think.

Or if I could just see a few detailed pics of the sides of the motor (stock) I could figure it all out real quick, just there are no photos I've seen that get that deep into the sides of the engine bay.

If you're talking about the three bolt turbo elbow that goes up...you need a 90 degree coupler to connect the elbow with the intercooler hotpipe. You won't need the 90 degree coupler if you're using an aftermarket hotpipe most of the time.

As for the smic, the smaller one should be coming from the stock bypass valve and could be left open depending if you're using the stock bypass valve or not. If you're using the stock bypass valve then that third smaller pipe from the smic should be connected with a hose routed back into the stock air intake.

The turbo outlet has a metal hose comes up out of it? Ok the only thing connected to the outlet on the turbo should be an extension with an o2 sensor in it. There will be another metal pipe from it that, it's the AIV, you'll need a plug for it.

On the intake side of the turbo- you've got the hose from the valve cover, a vac line, and the bov recirculation on the rubber part that hooks up to the front of the turbo. On the air outlet of the intake side of the turbo, you've got a hotpipe that should have a vac line for the wastegate actuator unless you're using the stock setup with the vac line at the smic.

how important is all this stuff to actually running and driving the car? Will it hurt to have a few things left open? Just asking because I'd really like to get the car running and then find aftermarket answers for a lot of it rather than nickle and diming myself with stock parts.

If I ever figure out what I need I'll let you know. Just no way to explain it when I'm not even sure of what things are called....
