alright, let me rephrase now, is it easy to keep AC and power steering? Is it the norm for the swap, or do people usually do w/o em'?tenkawa_akito wrote:you can keep both AC and power steering.
As far as legality going, the SR is technically illegal as a road motor. It was never offered in the US in the RWD configuration. Not to mention it can't pass CA emissions (not that that concerns you in Michigan), but it has passed less stringent emissions laws.
hey, do ever go to the a2sportcompact meets? I know there is a guy (jake) with a flat black 240 around here.ILikeMy240sx wrote:hi there buddy,
glad to see another person from a2 area here on board.. I think there are about 5 of us here on NICO that live around there including me.
What he said.tenkawa_akito wrote:Power steering is very easy to keep. Especially if you have a 91+ model 240SX (the 89-90 models had the pump on the other side of the car, so you'd need to source the 91+ lines) With the 91+ cars, all you have to do is attach the high pressure and low pressure lines to the SR pump.
A/C can get a bit tricky because the DOHC KA compressor won't fit exactly. You can half *** it and get 2 or 3 bolts to screw in, but you won't have all 4 of the bolts that normally hold the compressor on. If you have the SR compressor, you're in luck. you can have a shop vent the freon, and then swap the lines onto the SR pump and then recharge the system.
