We just put an s13 SR20DET into my friends 95' 240sx. When we crank the motor the injectors dont fire. If we pull the CAS and turn it by hand the injectors will click until the pump turns on to pressurize the system. Ive tried everything I can think of. Anyone have any ideas?

Weve looked at so many things. The harness was wired wrong at first, but I corrected that. Now its just some small things I hope.

Ok, got the injectors firing. Im positive our ignition timing is off from messing with the CAS but I also noticed theres no fuel at all in the return line after the FPR. Is this a bad thing? Ive never really thought about the fuel return line before so Ive never checked to see if it had fuel in it. But it is completely dry after cranking for 30 seconds or so with the injectors firing.

I noticed the same thing on my s14sr

in the middle of troubleshooting startup. that was something i noticed... also , wouldnt the spark plug smell like fuel assuming its getting fuel? (and not firing)

We figured it out, the ECU relay was wired wrong causing the ECU to not get constant power while cranking. figured it out when I noticed the SAFC would restart when you started cranking even if you waited for it to go into diagnostic mode with the key on the on position.

Also the fuel pump had become disconnected, but we figured that out once the injectors started firing.
