Sr20 startup problems help please

Ok i did my sr swap on my 91 240sx and im having problems starting it. At first i didnt know that you had to use the Sr MAF or the sohc ka maf. So when i first tried to turn the car over i was using the dohc maf. will using the dohc maf fry any wires. we have spark, fuel, and did the ignition timing about a hundred times. Im hundred percent on the wiring. Checked for codes and we are getting 55. And another thing when we try to crank the car over the power light on the ecu will turn off but when the key is on the on position it will stay on. It only turns off when tring to crank the motor.The motor will crank and crank I dont get even a backfire or anything.

What we need to know:

1. Will tring to crank the car with the dohc maf will it ruin the wires or cause any problem?

2. Is the ecu working right, cause when you attempt to crank the car over the power light turns off?

3. What is engine code 55?

sorry about the long post its just that i really need this car to start. any ideas please post thank you.

1. I dont thikn so, theres just different values..... 2. Thats normal3. Code 55= everything is "ok"

Unplug the MAF and see what happens. Is your fuel pressure adequate? Full 34 PSI at idle?

doch mafs won't work. sohc or sr20det mafs will work. It'll run like crap and give you some weird errors like an oscillating idle and sputtering and other symptoms that may lead you to believe you've got a vac leak or something else.
