so it would just click when i start the car. everything seems to be good, including the battery, starter (was just rebuilt), and i checked all the clutch interlock relays, ignition relays, and all that good stuff. it would sometimes start if i keep trying to start it for a while. after many clicks itll start.

today i bypassed the interlock relay by connecting the wire that supplies 12v to the starter directly to the battery. same thing... only clicks but doesnt crank. so im starting to think it's a bad starter...

could it be that the starter wasnt rebuilt correctly? that wouldnt be logial though because i also have 2 other sr starters, and theyre all good (i got them all checked at autozone), but would experience the same clicking problem with all of them. any suggestions?

Lets make a check list.battery is full charge. - CheckStarter is GUARENTEED working. ??- You say checkTook a volt meter to starter? See if a full 12V is getting there. Also get a friend to turn the car over and check the power drop on volt meter. You have two other starters? Try them. Pretty easy thing to try.Done any trans work lately? Compare starter teeth to other starters?

Just some ideas. Let us know.

my car is doing the exact same thing but up until yesterday it takes like ten minutes to start. it would only take a few turns of the key before and it would be fine. i believe i have a bad starter now after redoing the wiring to it and having the same issue. this issue got worse after i blew off my intercooler piping over on the passenger side. im getting another starter here soon maybe tommorow or perhaps ill make the sohc ka starter work. the mechanic at my shop seems to think that my solenoid is probably going out. ill keep you posted.
