alright ill try to provide as much info as possible to make figuring out the problem easier. i have a black top sr20 standard t25 fmic setup. while i was at the track drifting last weekend my oil filter fell off at the end of my run, the motor may have ran at the most 20 sec without the filter on when the car was parked i noticed that it fell off went and got more oil and a new filter filled it back up and the car ran perfect. the next day driving i noticed that its starting to smoke so i tried some tests.. at idle the car dosnt tend to smoke so i tried reving the car slowly to see if it would produce smoke and it did not. however when i rev quickly it produces white smoke out the exhaust. also it seems inbetween shifts it will puff a little and also while im in boost it smokes on and off. Im thinking it the turbo either going bad or having a bad seal, if anyone knows the prob or has a suggestion please let me know all help is appreciated thanks a bunch..

Could be plenty of things. From coolant burning to a bad PVC.

Well Brennen from what i know of my knowledge it could be a number of things...

i would just go over everything small and work my way up to the big things if you dont know for sure..

1. I would check to see if your IC piping is tight and free of leaks. this would cause your car to idle and run werid but it would also cause smoke.

2. check for any leaks. Oil or coolant... esp around the turbo you could have a bad line going to the turbo or block... coolant burns white but has a unique smell to it...

3. It could very well be your turbo going bad.. check your turbo and take your exuast off like eaton has his when his t-28 went bad.. if your are getting alot of smoke comeing right from the turbine outlet then chances are it could be a bad seal.

4. Do a compression test! you could possibly have a bad head gasket but as far as i know this would cause your car to run werid as well..

5. it could be a bad valve seal..

it could be a number of differant problems but it does sound to me like the turbo is going bad... your oil filter might not have anything to do with it.. just running it hard out at the track esp sunday being a hot f***ing day could cause this.. last time i ran out there my car was smoking white but its not exssive like yours is doing now... but do these tests and see what happens...
