SR20 Side Mount Questions

From a less that reputable source I was told that side mount intercoolers on S13 Redtops are sufficient for up to 10 pounds of boost without worry of the intake charge being too hot, I am new to SR20's and plan on running stock boost for a while but do not have the money for a Front Mount Currently. Is this true? if not, any suggestions on cooling until the front mount, its about to be summer and summer here is hot as hell...

any admin. that will do it go for it, i simply dont know who to ask, this was technical but i suppose ill stick to the SR forums
