Hey guys,

Just a question to see is anybody can tell me what my serial numbers on my engine and ecu mean. Just like the first number/letter of a VIN # designates country of origin, and the 10th is for the year of production, I assume the same holds true,in a similar way, for the engine and ecu serial numbers. I want to make sure that I got an s14 kouki sr with the same ecu, since alot of people recieve the wrong ecu. I searched, then checked the stickied list of part numbers, but found nothing.

Engine serial number reads SR20 285647W

ECU (side with black and white label)23710 80F00A18-F01 G08 521(might be 7521-label is scratched)

ECU (side with orange and white sticker w/japanese writing)SPEC- S14 /SR20DETDATE- 99.5.31 NWhy would it say 99?ECU also has a Buddy Club "Brack Box Super Computer" sticker, which apparently they no longer chip. Hope it's not a POS.Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

It is hard to tell engine years, except looking at the stamps on some parts like the coilpacks. But the engine doesnt matter, as long as the ECU and wiring harness are from the same generation. And they should be because Zenki and Kouki harness' have different pinouts to the ECU plug and wont fit the other ECU's.

It does have NA printed above the ecu serial numbers, and it matches the chart, so it must be an kouki s14 ecu.

The engine serial number is somewhat useless in telling me what year it is then?

Thanks again for the help!
