Or instead of dealing with the hassle of getting an engine swap. Why not just get a 240 that's already been SR'd?

89 240 with SR $4000:http://www.craigslist.org/sfc/car/17074151.html

90 240 with SR and Silvia Front end conversion $5800:http://www.craigslist.org/eby/car/17004260.html

89 240 with SR $5500:http://www.craigslist.org/nby/car/16787159.html

90 240 with SR $6000:http://www.craigslist.org/nby/car/16787159.html

http://www.rcrewracing.com Theyre in SF. Awesome prices, go check them out. I got my motor there for $2200 and I heard that they'd do the swap for like $1000.

So what you guys doing for smog hook ups here now that the new smog laws went into place October 1st? I'm going to be buying a car with a swap already done and I'm getting a little conserned on what to do about the smog.

Well seeing as I'm buying a car with a swap already done, I can't smog it first. And I've heard finding hookups now a days, espsially with the new smog laws is going to be tough and expensive. Anyone know of any in the bay area? Northbay preferably?

Thats the best you can do I did that i got 1/2 a year to go till my next test only, but either than stressing about the smog I think I might make it a drag only car.

I'm not sure of all the specifics, but I know the smog test now includes a dyno test, and I believe they test your engine at all RPMs, not just idle and like 3k.

Phax, your in Long Beach? How's the scene down there? I'm going to be transfering to school there in the spring. It'd be nice to know some people there :).

Truth be told, I don't know jack about the car scene around here. I get my car tuned in Costa Mesa. Out at the bars last night though, I ran into some punk rock guy whose dad is an OG in the street racing scene, going back to the days of Terminal Island and all that. So, the influence is definitely still around. When I want to drive fast around here, I just go down to the port on late weekend nights. There are huge open expanses of pavement and very few vehicles around.

Hit me up when you get into town though. I'll show you where the fun onramps, transition roads, go fast spots, speed traps, cop hangouts, etc. are. Are you old enough to go out to the bars? Probably one of the best parts about this city is the constant influx of college aged feminity, combined with the fact that the city is big enough, to hold onto some fine ***, non-college aged females as well.

Sounds good man. I'm 22, so bar age isn't a problem. Though unless things go wrong by then, I'm planning on moving down there with my gf. But that would be awsome if you could show me around the area, would definately like to know where to look out for cops :).
