I hear popping at the back of my muffler in both 1st and 2nd so Im guessing I am running rich.

I have 2 questions:

I am about to install a walbro fuel pump, will this add to the problem since I am already running rich?

I live in San Diego, is there a place or easy way for me to get this 'running rich' problem fixed? I read about this enthalpy JWT stuff in the other thread but Im really unsure whats going on lol.

Thanks

There's a few things that can make a car run rich. The exhaust popping occasionally may not specifically indicate a static rich condition, however. The first thing that comes to mind is, are you running a blow off valve vented to atmosphere?

To answer your question a walbro fuel pump will not make it more rich.

Im pretty sure my BOV has those characteristics. It is a stock S13 blacktop with no mods. Do you know how I can get this problem fixed? Will changing the exhaust be a possibility

recirculate your bov instead of venting it to atmosphere.

With it vented, in between shifts the turbo is pulling air through the MAF which the ecu reads as a signal to keep dumping fuel even though your foot is off the gas. this causes a momentary rich condition. also while cruising in vacuum the bov can 'float' open which lets in unmetered air and leans it out.

mine pops between shifts, recirculating the bov did nothing.
