I am trading my 510 for a 240 and the 240 that I'm trading for has an SR20 in it and my 510 has a SR in it, but he's taking his engine out and I'm taking mine out and we're just switching shells. But I went and looked at this car earlier today and it looked like the TPS plug was different? Would any of the plugs be different on different year SR's? I think his TPS was missing the cover that covers up the sensor itself and that might be what threw me off.

I'm pretty sure there are 2 versions of the TPS Most companies only sell the 3 pin one, though. It's apparently different for the auto and manuals..

Oh there's another thing I noticed too. On that harness on the 240, the MAF plug is a three wire and the sensor is the size for a three pin plug. Well I looked at mine when I got home and my plug only has three wires, but it's a four pin plug. And my maf has three pins and an extra one on there that doesn't do anything. I guess we can just swap mafs and TPS's. Is there anything else that could be different?

If I remember right, the KA-E maf is setup like the one you described. They'll both work, but I wouldn't run the KA-E maf on my own SR unless I was relying on the car for a daily driver and had to wait for an SR MAF.

if your just swapping shells keep your engine harness and ecu.

Well see I modified my SR harness in the 510 because you actually have to wire up the relays and s*** yourself, so I can't really take it out and use it in a 240. I was just reading that the 3 wire TPS's come on 5 spds. and the 6 wire ones like that SR in the 240sx has is from an auto. But where would whoever put the SR into the car I'm trading for get an Automatic SR? I've never heard of anyone having an auto trans on a SR. If I wanted to use the 3 wire TPS I guess I'd have to buy a new SR20 harness and get a new TPS since I've already switched TPS's with the guy. But I'm still not sure about the MAF, I haven't figured that one out yet.

Edit:
Another question. If I swap my TPS with his and swap my MAF with his, would there be any problem with that? I mean I heard the SR that was in the 240 run so I know it did work and it was wired correctly and everything. I guess it wouldn't be any big deal, but if the TPS ever went bad I don't know where in the hell I'd get a new 6 wire TPS. And then if I couldn't find a 6 wire TPS I'd have to get a 3 wire one and probably buy a new wiring harness. And another question. The 91-94 sentra se-r's have the same 3 wire TPS's as the sr20's. What would you have to do to change the 6 wire plug on the engine harness to get it to work with a 3 wire TPS? Or could you do that?

Try contacting yury or om3ga at wiring specialties.. I've never had to deal with it, or even known anyone that needed to..

You can get the Auto TPS, As far as the harness goes i would change the MAF plug back to stock SR or just buy a new harness. It would really be worth it in the long run. That way its brand new and you know what sensors its using ie. manual tps and sr maf.

So you can still get the auto TPS's? But see the MAF's are the same, the plugs on them are just different. I mean they are both 3 wire MAF's. I could change it out, but it wouldn't make any difference besides I wouldn't have to do it when the MAF actually went bad.

I would verify that the part numbers are the same on the MAFs. The KA-E maf is also a 3 wire, and works with an SR, but won't work very well if boost is turned past stock.
