You should spend some time on the internet just reading about the car and things about the motor.
Now, to answer your question.
To replace the headgasket, I would reccommend getting New Intake Manifold gaskets, Injector O-Rings(if bad if youre on budget), Exhaust manifold->Head Gaskets and a Headgasket. There is no timing belt. It is a Timing chain. Make sure the timing chain tensioner feels stout and strong.
I hope you're pretty mechanic handy. I hope you didn't buy this car thinking it would be a 1-2 Hour job. You'll need a decent set of tools and an Factory Service Manual. I hope that the block and head aren't warped.
