SR's are not legal in CA for use in 240sx. Get it through your head and learn to deal with the possibility that you might have to find someone that can hook you up with a smog.

That said, here's the how to.1. Find someone who'll pass you out the pipe. AKA overlooks the visual and doesn't rat you out for no EGR, and possibly other emissions equipment.2. Make sure you've got a 3 way cat on. Catco is a 2 way, you'll need the 3 way.3. If you've got headwork, forget it.4. retard the timing one or two degrees5. a towel over your air filter. You'll need to adjust this with pretests to find the optimal position.6. try using alcohol. It'll help a bit.7. pray to whomever you pray to.

EGR = Exhaust Gas Recirculation

It cannot be used because the EGR pipe runs right through the steering column. You can relocate the pipe to keep the EGR if you really want to.
