Ka can put out massive torque but does not rev too high. Sr can rev to the moon but is not a torque factory like the Ka. so it really just depends on what your preference is. horse power or torque. im going KA-T. but i bought a broke a** ka motor and rebuild it from the ground (or in this case the crank) up so it can rev just as high as the Sr
What?? More efficient with boost?? I would disagree, you would need to do some work to the head for it to be more efficient with boost. I would say 8k rev with a stock sr is "okay" but not with a KA, so we are talking 1-2k more time in peak boost. SR ftw without any head or a** work on the KA.
Anyway, dude, just slap on new retainers springs. And if you wish work the bottom end if you want to race fuel tune it with big air CFM pushing into your intake mani, and are worried about blowing something down under. KA-T is pretty cool and much more "original" now a days. If it were up to me, slap a LS or JZ in it before you SR it. But I like the idea of hybrid cars , so much work
