Hello ,

I own a 1994 Skyline GTS, HR33, sedan 4 door with a RB20E engine.

I'm planning to do a swap but want to know if swapping a S13, SR20DET is something to think about or just go the RB25DET route?

I saw a R32, 4 door with a SR20DET kick some *** on a drift course in Jap.

It's a family car, I just want a bit more turbo power.....

Me personally I would go with a RB it's supposed to be there. But then again your still going to have to do wiring for the Turbo motor.I know somethings are different from many hours of staring at the FSM. lol

Also price is a factor as well. How much can you get each motorset for?

rb25 duh... Its all the way sexy. Unless ur gonna drift, than maybe the sr20 is a better choice but i wouldnt rule the rb25 out as drift suitable.. The rb25 about broke my back when i tried to move it in my garage so its a heavy sob.

Since you have a skyline.. I'd go Rb25det if I were you. I know that the SR and RB have different mounts.. so to go from an RB to the SR you would have to get custom mounts for the SR.. probably a custom driveshaft as well.

In practicality.. the RB should give you more torque and more power in stock form.

if i were in your shoes i would just do the rb26dett swap and use the rb25det trans and you would have one sick 4 door skyline.

An SR in the R32 is pretty common over here, gives it a more centerd feel. But in the R33, it's useless. The R33 is a bit heavier and it throws off the center of gravity. Just pick up an RB25 with all the wiring, ECU and whatnot. It will be a pretty easy swap as long as you get all that you need.

The car is our daily transportation and we just want some turbo power. No need to have another drag or drift car!

I'm a weldor/Fabricator, Tuner, etc etc so custom work isn't a problem.

Let's keep this on topic : SR20 or RB25 ?? I need your inputs!

P.S. does anyone have pics of 4 door HR33 with SR20DET's?

RYSO.
